Chapter 3 - Save you tonight - Part 10



Liam POV.

I left the other lads. I had too. My mind was in a mess. I ignored them cause I received a text from Zayn. Yes, Zayn Malik. He texted me and that's the reason why I held my phone in my right hand just now. I had to be quiet so I can calm myself down and think straight. I kept rereading Zayns' text message while walking to meet him.

-Text message-

Zayn: Buddy, you there? Keep reading this text. Don't ignore me. I can only rely on you man. Just keep reading this. I promise I won't be wasting your time. Meet me at starbucks located beside Dianas' apartment. Please be there alone. Bring yourself and only you. I'll be waiting. And even if you don't turn up, i will still be waiting. Miss you man. and yes, i love you.

Liam: yea, see how. if i turn up then it must be your lucky day. and if i don't you can keep waiting.

I couldn't ignore Zayn. How can I ever ignore that annoying yet amazing dude? The dude that have always been annoying me with his 'vas happenin Liam' That dude who takes 60 minutes to look at himself in the mirror. That dude who loves Nike. That dude who wears varsity jacket and that dude who sticks his tongue out every time we take a picture. There is no way I can ignore Zayn. No way. I'm walking briskly to starbucks now and I just hope the other lads won't be having their breakfast in starbucks. I arrived inn starbucks and there he was. Sitting alone, sipping his coffee.


Zayn POV

I couldn't control my tears. Liam actually came alone with no one else. He came towards me and I quickly stood up and grab him. I hugged him tightly and gave a kiss on his right cheek. Yeah, people in starbucks may think I'm gay. But I'm not. I missed Liam and the other 3 crazy lads. Most importantly, I miss Diana, alot. Liam didin't say anything, he didin't even look at me in the eyes and that's heartbreaking. It really hurt me deeply.

-Conversation between Zayn & Liam in Starbucks-

Zayn: Hey buddie, look at me. Please.

Liam: It doesn't matter, you told me you won't be wasting my time. so yeah, hurry up. I don't have the whole day to listen to your nonsense. uh, so hurry yea. I gotta catch up with the other lads. Uh.. yea. 5 minutes and that's it.

Zayn: You have never been so harsh on me. It breaks my heart to see you treating me like this. Why Liam?

Liam: Ask yourself. 4 minutes left.

Zayn: I need more time. 4 minutes won't be enough. Please.

Liam: stop beating around the bush and maybe 4 minutes will be enough.

Zayn: Yea, whatever you say Liam. Do you know why I'm behaving like this? Have you ever asked me Liam? Since Diana came, each and every one of you have been trying to impress her. What about me Liam? Do you know my life is a mess? For once, just asked me how is my life, how I am coping with it. Stop impressing Diana, just stop. You won't get her, i promise you won't cause I'll make things better and eventually end up with Diana.. Listen to my story.

Liam: This is not about us impressing Diana. This is about you hurting her for the umpteen times. None of us is trying to impress Diana. None. We all respect you.. We all know you have something for her. We know that Zayn. But why the hell are you hurting that wonderful young girl? Answer me. Answer me Zayn!

Zayn: Listen and tell the rest of the lads. Do you know my parents set me up with Eva? Do you know that? Do you know Eva threaten to hurt Diana if I ever ended up with her? Do you know that if my parents ever found out that I'm in love with Diana, i will leave the country with Eva. Do you know that I'm forced to marry Eva in the future? Do you know how hard it is for me to stop hurting Diana? Do you know how frustrating it is to see you guys comforting her but I can't do that? Do you know how many times my heart broke seeing Diana cry? Do you know everytime you give her a hug my world tears apart? Do you know how much I think of Diana? Do you know how much I always wanted to hold her? Do you know how much I wish Eva was Diana? Do you know how much it sucks to be me? Do you know how hopeless, helpless and useless I am now? Do you know I can't do anything right now? Do you know it kills me to not talk to Diana? Do you know what i'm facing Liam? Do you?

Liam: I don't know all of this Zayn. I don't know. I really don't know. How can I help you when i feel hopeless and helpless as well? Stay strong buddy. Things will eventually get better cause I'll tell this to the rest and hopefully they will trust me and help you out. You do know the pain you caused us is still here. I'm hurt seeing you like this. But my heart breaks seeing you purposely hurting Diana. I'm leaving now. Take care and uh, i shall see you soon I guess.


Meanwhile, at Nandos, the rest of the lads were having their breakfast. 'I'm worried ......' Niall said. He didin't even touched his food. He didin't even have a taste of his food. And I know Niall is worried for Liam.
'Diana... did Liam texted you?' Louis asked. I shook my head. The rest of the boys remained silent. Harrys' phone suddenly rang.

'It's Liam! It's Liam' Harry screamed with tears in his eyes. 'Read the text! Hurry harry!' Louis continued. 'Wait!! I'm trying to be fast' Harry replied. Niall wiped his tears away and I gave him a hug. I whispered in his ears 'Don't cry little Irish boy, we are all here' I wiped his tears away with my thumb.

-Text message-

Liam: where are you guys? Don't worry guys! I'm  fine. And I am guessing Niall is probably crying now :P tell him don't cry!

Harry: We are at Nandos! Hurry here! Niall stopped crying already! :P

Liam: I'll be there. Love you guys xx

The boys face lit up and I can see that they are being all hyper and random now. Louis was laughing and dancing. Niall was enjoying his food. And we have Harry spiting random stuff out! They suddenly stopped laughing and their mood went down again.

'What's wrong guys? You were laughing the last minute and now you are all down ,again' I asked. I knew the answer.

'What's wrong? Everything is. Remember our first dinner at Nandos? We were laughing and enjoying each others presence. But now. Look. How many of us is here? Liam is on the way. Where is Zayn? He is not here Diana. He is not here. Why must he leave us? Why is hurting us like this? Why is he purposely hurting us? What have we done wrong? Were we a bad friend all this while? Did he hated us,Diana? Did he?' Harry answered with tears streaming down his face. He then placed his head on Louis left shoulder. Louis pat Harrys' face gently.

'I don't know Harry, I seriously don't know. I'm hurt too. I'm not healing. I'm trying to be strong for you guys.' I replied. Niall tilted my head down slightly so I can rest on his left shoulder.

'Nothing will be fine. Nothing' Louis continued. Just then, Liam came in.

'Vas happenin' he screamed with his hands in the air. None of us actually responded to Liam. 'Vas happenin remind me of Zayn' ,Niall said while wiping his tears away. Liam then remained silent and started weeping. 'Come here Liam, sit' Louis said, patting on the seat next to him. Liam settled down and looked at all of us.

'I have something to share with you guys. I don't know if you will believe it. Cause I don't know if i should believe it.  I don't know if this is his excuse or what. I don't know. But I want all of you to listen carefully to what I have to say. I rushed off to meet Zayn just now cause he texted me to meet him. I went to starbucks beside Dianas' house to meet him. There, he ...' Liam paused.

'He what.' I asked calmly. I don't want to be angry for no apparent reason so I kept calm and listened.

Liam let a huge sigh and continued 'He told me .... Eva threatened to hurt Diana if both of you ever end up together. And if his parents ever found out that Zayn is in love with Diana he would be moving out of the country and will eventually leave all of us. He was being forced to marry Eva in the future and there is no way he can ever be with you,Diana.'

I covered my face and cried after hearing Liams' explanation. Liam then added 'He looked sick Diana. He looked pale. He had swollen red eyes. His hair was in a mess. His clothes weren't iron. His face is still bleeding from the fight that occurred. He can't even talk properly. I don't know why I left him. I really don't know.'

The rest of the lads went speechless. The atmosphere became tensed. 'We all need to meet him now Liam. God knows what will happen to him. He is still the other part of us. We need to meet him Liam. We need too. Hurry! Let's go! Who knows he is still at starbucks?' Louis said and ran out of Nandos. We ran as fast as we could to Starbucks. We stopped running when we saw a group of people outside Starbucks. There was a commotion outside Starbucks. We ignored the commotion and dashed into starbucks to look for Zayn. But he wasn't there.

'Argh! We missed Zayn!' Liam shouted. 'Maybe he was at the park?' I asked. 'Maybe, let's all rush there Niall said' We ran to the park, searched the whole big park but Zayn wasn't there. We then dashed to the apartment to check if he was there. He wasn't. We got worried. 'Evas' place?' Louis asked, 'Maybe' we all answered. Louis lead us to Evas' house. He knocked on Evas' door. 'Zayn here?' Louis asked.

'Oh look. This kids again. What Louis?' Eva answered rudely.

'I have no time. Zayn here?' Louis asked in a hurry.

'Uh.. no.. he went to grab me breakfast' Eva answered and slammed the door.

Liam then decided to call Zayn and put it on loud speaker. Zayn answered the call and we were relieved.

-Phone conversation-

Liam: Hello...Zayn? Liam was breathing heavily.

Zayn: Zayn? No this isn't Zayn. Are you his friend?

Niall: Huh? You are not Zayn? Then who are you?

We panicked when we heard the voice over the phone wasn't Zayn.

Zayn: .....

Liam: Hello?! Hello?! You there?!

There was no answer. Liam tried calling again but it won't get through. We assumed that his battery ran out and there is no way we can ever contact him. We calmed ourselves down and tried to think of the various place he would go.

'Starbucks..' I said.
